How do i disable sidebar windows 7

On Vista - I've used Sidebar's Properties to disable it, shut the Sidebar down, and even gone into Control Panel and disabled it in the Startup tab - but the damn thing keeps opening up when I restart the computer - and it takes forever to load.

This mostly works as a temporary solution but occasionally the empty Sidebar still appears and I have to right-click and close it.
