Is nero 8 compatible with vista

Because of this, the DoIT Help Desk is only able to offer best effort support for these clients, and certain issues may require the use of a Microsoft client in order to be resolved. This document details application vendor support for Vista and the results of software compatibility testing with the Windows Vista bit operating system.

All applications were tested on a fresh Windows Vista build, not an upgrade installation from Windows XP. We can only provide best effort support. These products are no longer actively supported by Microsoft. No further development will take place on these products and security updates are no longer issued. It is highly recommended that you upgrade to Windows 10 or 8.

Please note that most vendors are only recently supporting Vista. The version of the software in use on your computer may need to be patched in order for it to function correctly on Windows Vista. This is not about simple choices, but rather how to meet a certain goal with successful results. Certain aspects of Nero still have merit I guess - haven't touched since the botched v7 releases , but overall there's better stuff out.. And FREE no less. Nero has gone from a once fairly lean good program to a piece of bloat ware, whose components are often outclassed by other, more focused softwares.

You know the old saying jack of all trades, master of none. IMO it applies quite nicely here. Before this veered off into a discussion about how to answer questions, I think that everyone who replied to this post was sincerely trying to be helpful to the OP.

Hopefully the OP is not offended by the suggestion that a different program might be a better choice for one of the things that Nero does. Although I have now switched to ImgBurn for that, it's mostly because I tend to err on the side of caution, and because I like the idea that the discs it burns are fully compliant with the standard.

However, based on what I have been told about exactly what Nero does incorrectly, it is unlikely to ever cause a problem for me, or any one else who does not do professional video work. However, there were a couple of other things that I noticed about ImgBurn that might make it a better choice for some.

ImgBurn offered more options for burn speed and internal labeling for the disc than does the version of Nero Express that I have, but then again this may not be anything that interests the OP either. Nero does not handle the transition between layers very well when creating dual layer discs I probably forgot that because I never use them , but this may not be anything that the OP cares about either.
